Graham Roumieu is part of the 100 € Show at the Hotel de Vil in Stuttgart, Germany. The 100 € Show is an international exhibition consisting of illustrators from Canada, Germany, England, France, Israel, Italy, USA, Korea, Holland, Spain, and Japan. Each illustration sells for 100 €. The show is 'cash and carry' and once a piece is sold the empty space on the wall reveals the artist's full name and county.

Each participating artist has been recognized either by The Society of Publication Design, American Illustration, The Advertising & Design Club of Canada, The Society of Illustrators, the Art Directors Club of New York or the Art Directors Club of Germany. Click here for a preview of the art.

Roumieu's Dreaded Feast

Graham Roumieu illustrated the cover of The Dreaded Feast: Writers on Enduring the Holidays (Harry N. Abrams). The book "deflates the notion of the 'perfect' holiday season, and allows the reader to commiserate and bask in the glow of a little dark, neurotic, and unflinchingly honest humor" from the likes of Charles Bukowski, David Sedaris, Hunter S. Thompson and John Waters. Just in time for the holidays, it's available now.

Roumieu's an Early Bloomer

Graham Roumieu illustrated for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada's Early Bloomers website. The website uses humor and Graham's amusing illustrations to encourage people to be an 'early bloomer' by mentoring a child though the Big Brothers Big Sisters In-School Mentoring program.

Roumieu at Drawn & Quarterly

Montreal-based Drawn & Quarterly will be hosting an art show and book launch for Graham Roumieu's latest release, Cat & Gnome, 'a tale so powerful it would make Shakespeare swallow his pen and crap out butterflies (citation needed).' Stop by Librairie Drawn & Quarterly on Wednesday, July 8th for an evening of presentations, stunts, Q & A's, general milling-about and chit-chat about new and old works by Graham. Artwork for sale is on exhibit from Friday, June 26th until Friday, July 31st, 2009.

Roumieu on Marketing Illustration

Graham Roumieu is featured in Marketing Illustration: New Venues, New Styles, New Methods by Steven Heller and Marshall Arisman. The book, which was published my Allworth Press, in association with the School of Visual Arts, offers a comprehensive look at the realities of illustration today. Fifty working illustrators, including Graham, Christoph Niemann, Alex Murawski, Jashar Awan, Yuko Shimuzo and Tomer Hanuka share their insight into what works now and how illustrators can do to survive and thrive in this changing industry.

Roumieu Featured in G's

Graham Roumieu is featured in the premier issue of G's, The Gutenberg's Quarterly Concern on Illustration and Surroundings. The magazine, which has it's headquarters in Spain, is "focused on illustration and illustrators, showing their ways of life, studios, workspaces, pets, meals, and, of course, their work." It is run by The Gutenberg Collective with art direction and design by Picnic Design. The first issue also features Toronto's Team Macho, Seoul's Esther Lee, London's Jean Jullien and Blue Q Books.

American Illustration 28 Winner: ROUMIEU

Graham Roumieu had work selected to appear in the American Illustration 28 annual. To appear in the annual, an illustrator must receive a majority vote or better from the jury. They must receive at least two votes to appear on TRIBUTE. AI28 will be printed in full color and distributed world-wide in hard-cover immediately after The Party on November 12th, 2009. TRIBUTE will also go live at that time. Congratulations!

Graham Roumieu Recognized by HOW

Graham Roumieu's illustrations for Molson's Old Style Pilsner were featured in a viral video that received a merit award in HOW Magazine's International Design Annual. The illustrations were first featured on the Pilsner Old Style website which won an award for web design in last year's Applied Arts Interactive Awards Annual. Congratulations go out to Graham and everyone at TAXI Toronto!

Roumieu HMV's Author of the Month

Graham Roumieu is music retailer, HMV's, Canadian Author of the Month. Roumieu's Newest Book Launches

Graham Roumieu will celebrate the North American launch of 101 Ways to Kill Your Boss at the Gladstone Hotel in Toronto, ON.

The event will feature five "celebrity assassins" who, after being handed an envelope with an 8x10 of a famous boss, will select a method of executing them from Roumieu's graphic how-to guide. The celebrity assassins include Tim Beresford of comedy troupe Hot Snack Radio; author, journalist and editor, Stacey May Fowles; writer and illustrator Evan Mundy; and two others whose identities shall remain a secret until the launch.

This is a This Is Not a Reading Series event, presented by Pages Books & Magazines, Penguin Group Canada, Gladstone Hotel, EYE Weekly and Take Five On CIUT.

Roumieu for Sears' No Peeking Event

Graham Roumieu illustrated for Sears' No Peeking Event in downtown Toronto. The event features a gigantic 2200 square foot maze, an electric train, free gift wrapping, ice sculptures and tons of free giveaways. It's being held at Dundas Square and it opened this past Sunday and will run until Wednesday, November 26th. Remember to keep an eye out for Graham's work which was animated and projected on a giant screen overlooking the maze.

Graham Roumieu's collaboration with Soapbox Design won an award from Applied Arts in the Design category. The entry, Some Thoughts on Ideas: NuARs Call for Entry 2008, plays with the idea of ideas, both good and bad. Congratulations go out to Graham and everyone at Soapbox Design!

Roumieu Win At the ADCC Awards

Congratulations to Graham Roumieu  who was recognized at this year's Advertising + Design Club of Canada Awards. Graham Roumieu won a Silver medal for illustration in the Editorial category for his work with The Walrus, as well as a merit award in the Miscellaneous Graphic Design category for his work with Soapbox Design on NUAR's Call for Entries. Thanks and congratulations go out to everyone at The Walrus and Soapbox Design!
