Roumieu Launches Bigfoot: I Not Dead

The eagerly anticipated follow-up to Me Write Book and In Me Own Words, Bigfoot: I Not Dead hits bookstores on Tuesday, April 29th, 2008. "In his eagerly anticipated follow-up to Me Write Book, Bigfoot returns from exile to share his inspiring, hilarious, and often deeply disturbing experiences as a misunderstood forest gentleman and tragic media darling. These entertaining and often grizzly stories stand not only as a testament to the greatness of the legendary man-beast, but also as a chilling cautionary tale of the downside of a life of celebrity, cannibalism, celebrity cannibalism, wanton violence, and lack of toilet training. As in Me Write Book, full-color glossy spreads depict every intimate, disgusting, and downright insane moment of Bigfoot’s life. Bigfoot: I Not Dead is an unforgettable memoir that will stay with readers long after his foul scent has dissipated." - Penguin

Pre-order is available now through Penguin and Amazon.

Roumieu & Pilsner, Part 2

Last year Graham Roumieu collaborated with Taxi Toronto on the website for Molson's Old Style Pilsner beer. The beer was first brewed in 1926 so they built the website to appear as if it used 1926 technology, like a drafting table and a pair of hands, instead of fancy computer graphics. Graham contributed his illustrations and his own hands to the website, which just won an award for web design from Applied Arts magazine in the advertising section. The winners for this year's Interactive Awards are all listed in the current issue. Congratulations go out to Graham and everyone at Taxi!

The Artalog 2008

If you haven't already perused the lovely pages nearly overflowing with luscious illustration, rifle through your in-box and check out THE ARTALOG 2008 - the first ever collaborative effort between Magnet Reps and Frank Sturges Reps.

The 80-page catalog of illustration showcases the work of 30 artists from 9 countries. A carefully edited two-page spread for each illustrator gives a nice perspective on what each is up to and an eight-page award gallery boasts recently awarded work. Actually, saying it's a catalog belies the high-touch yet sturdy feel of its thick matte varnish stock and the gorgeous art inside. We designed it to be a keeper and hope you'll agree.

Cheers to 2008!

Roumieu Admired by Toureg Tribesman

Clint McLean, photographer and photo editor of the Globe & Mail newspaper, captured this priceless shot while in the Sahara desert north of Timbuktu. While traveling by camel he sat in the shade near a well to kill time during the hottest part of the day and shared a few magazines with the locals. This Toureg tribesman took particular interest in a copy of The Walrus with a cover illustration by Graham Roumieu. He looked through the whole magazine upside down and spent most of his time looking at the pictures.

BTW - check out Clint's website, his work is really beautiful.
