Magnet Artists for Charity

Eleanor Grosch and Bella Pilar contributed artwork to the 19th Annual Children's Book Art Silent Auction, part of BookExpo America at Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. All proceeds from the auction support efforts opposing the censorship of children's books and authors, including The Kids' Right to Read Project, Banned Books Week and the ongoing legal efforts working on behalf of children’s books and authors nationwide.

The auction takes place on Wednesday, May 29th from 5:30 to 7:30pm in the River Pavilion of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. The art can be previewed online with some of the pieces available for bidding prior to BookExpo America as part of a special online auction, opening Saturday, May 18th at 9am and closing Friday, May 24th at 9pm.

Roh for Sea Shepherd Conservation Society

Jungyeon Roh contributed art to the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society's Waves of Change art show at the Hasted Kraeutler art gallery in Manhattan's West Village. The opening reception takes place on Thursday, June 27th and will include refreshments, music and a special speaking engagement from a Sea Shepherd ship captain. All proceeds from the sale of the art will go directly to the charity.

Founded in 1977 by Captain Paul Watson, Sea Shepherd's mission is to defend, conserve, and protect the world’s marine wildlife species and marine wilderness ecosystems. SSCS is the most aggressive, determined, active, and effective defender of marine wildlife in the world.

Grosch for Après Vélo

Eleanor Grosch created a series of illustrations for Après Vélo, an Australian company that specializes in cycling apparel and accessories. The beautiful and bold illustrations – there are five in total – celebrate the 100th anniversary of the infamous Tour de France. Prints are currently available with a line of t-shirts for men and women to be released in the very near future. Printed on linen paper and measuring 12x18 inches, they are available individually or in sets of five.

Roumieu for Nautilus Magazine

Graham Roumieu illustrated for the premiere issue of online science magazine, Nautilus. Each issue of the magazine reports on a single topic with the first issue – What Makes You So Special? – focusing on the mystery of human uniqueness. Graham's illustration provides a visual history of the nautilus namesake, from the first practical submarine to a Russian rock group to exercise equipment. Click the image to enlarge.

Magnet Artists for American Illustration

We're pleased to announce that Magnet artists Graham Roumieu and Jungyeon Roh were recognized by American Illustration and will appear in either the AI32 annual and on THE ARCHIVE as part of American Illustration's website collection.

The AI32 book and THE ARCHIVE will launch November 6th-7th at American Illustration's two annual events – The Party and BIG TALK – in New York City.

Roumieu's Recent Editorial Work

Graham Roumieu's recent editorial work includes assignments for O Magazine, The New York Times and The Atlantic. His illustration for O, The Oprah Magazine deals with effects 'The Pill' has on memory, while his piece for The New York Times tells the story of the newly discovered – and nearly extinct – Gunnison Sage Grouse. A recent series of spots for The Atlantic attempt to answer 'The Big Question,' where some of today's great thinkers weigh in on what day most changed the course of history – from Batu Khan's return to Mongolia in 1241 to the day an asteroid hit the Yucátan Peninsula wiping out the dinosaurs.

Pilar + BP Girl for Totally Me!

Bella Pilar's BP Girl collection for Totally Me! is now available at Toys R Us. So far, the collection consists of two lines – Sweet Tooth and LOL – perfect for the sweet and text savvy tween. Haworth for Rotman Magazine

Hennie Haworth's illustrations can be seen in recent issues of Rotman magazine. Her illustration about retaining 'high potential' employees appears in their Winter 2013 issue, while her piece about taking an 'artisan approach' to business appeared in the Fall 2012 issue. The magazine is published by the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.

Haworth + The Secret Museum

Hennie Haworth illustrated for Harper Collins' newly released book, The Secret Museum. For this unique book, author Molly Oldfield unearthed some of the most intriguing objects that have, until now, been hidden away in museum archives all over the world. Hennie's beautiful and intricate illustrations can be seen throughout the book that includes sixty previously unknown artifacts, from an original Gutenberg bible printed on vellum and a piece of Newton's apple tree to Dickens' letter opener and three pieces of Mars.

Pilar at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week wrapped up yesterday in New York City. This marks the second year in a row that Papyrus has participated in the week-long celebration of fashion, will Bella Pilar's artwork appearing on the show schedule's cover, press passes, a VIP tote bag and a foil-embossed greeting card created especially for the event. Bella flew to New York to attend a card-signing event at the Papyrus display in Lincoln Center February 9th and 10th. Her posh cover girls appeared on the show schedule's cover, press passes, a foil-embossed greeting card custom created for the event and a highly sought-after VIP tote bag. Pilar + Papyrus for New York Fashion Week

Bella Pilar and long-time client, Papyrus, celebrated fashion for the second year in a row as proud supporters of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York City, February 7th to 14th. Bella's chic fashionistas in luxurious emerald appeared on the show schedule's cover, press passes and VIP tote bags, with Papyrus’ most fashion-forward cards prominently displayed in the foyer of the Lincoln Center entrance.

Bella's fashionable illustrations have become a trademark of the Papyrus brand and she was on-hand at the Papyrus display in Lincoln Center February 9th and 10th to sign the custom, foil-embossed cards she created especially for the week-long event. Attendees were invited to browse Papyrus' selection of fashion-inspired cards and share their Fashion Week experience by sending their favorites to family and friends with Papyrus providing complimentary postage to anywhere in the world.

Bella is no newcomer to Fashion Week, she spent many seasons doing makeup in Bryant Park when she worked as a makeup artist. "It’s very cool to have my hand in it again, years later," she says, "it feels like I’ve come full circle."
