New York artist Hye Jin Chung’s cheerful energetic temperament is expressed in the friendly inclusive work she’s become known for. Each playful illustration features bright upbeat characters leading active everyday lives - drinking coffee, swimming, shopping, reading, even body building. A well-dressed animal or two can often be seen in the midst as well. Inspired by her birthplace in tropical Singapore, Hye Jin’s work is often filled with verdant, larger than life blooms and greenery.

Her ongoing personal project #projectpeoplebyhyejinchung features a whimsical and somewhat addictive parade of unique, fashionable, and sometimes irreverent people, marching along to their own tune. She is the co-founder of Instant Rabbit, a publisher of zines, prints and greeting cards.

 Hye Jin received her MFA degree in Illustration as Visual Essay at the School of Visual Arts, New York in 2013.
