Jungyeon Roh: PICTORIAL MEMORIES - Series

Two hours per day, spanning an entire year, were dedicated to this drawing series which reflects my personal life and observations and touches on Korean and global events, including Trump vs. Biden, Yoon Suk-yeol, the Paris Olympics and remembering Sero, a zebra that escaped from a Seoul zoo two years ago. Seasons are identified by color with blue for Winter, pink for Spring, green for Summer and yellow for Fall.

Each Thursday , I grouped four drawings into a 4-panel grid and uploaded them to the Korean blogging platform Brunch and Instagarm. Centered around my daily experiences, individual 4-panel groupings follow a simple narrative structure but there isn’t an overarching storyline, with the idea that viewers may find their own connections to the work. — Jungeon
