SEAN GALLAGHER: GIFS + ANIMATION

There Are Two Colors in My Head

A young woman with red hair, the weight of being so fashionable, her retro fur coat hanging off her shoulder, takes a break from the working world to have a cigarette on the sidewalk as an oblivious cat strolls by, the colors of the world these two subjects exist in 70s autumn.

Rain on a Strange Roof

You escape into the subway because it's warm and the outdoors is cold, but only in the shadows, yet the subway terminal quickly grows muggy and the relief is acheived when the express heading uptown streams by, filling the space with tepid air that feels heavenly. The colors and subway train are from the 70s as is the outfit.

The Snow Reveals Old Buried Wanderings

It's winter, one of those winters where the sky is nothing but white and it blends into the horizon where the overcast lingers, teasing with more snow, more snow, jesus, not more snow, life in this town shuts down with more snow, it's piling everywhere and all the shops are shut down and some folks are without power, but damn, it's good to take a walk where the cold air burns your lungs when you breathe in, your vintage 70s snow coat the coolest thing to have when everything else seems frozen. At least the leaves of the sundown tree are holding out. Typically, at this time, the leaves have given out, so there's a ray of hope.

A Wet Seed Wild

It's that time where fall feels more like winter than autumn because the skies have been gray for weeks and the mercury keeps dropping, but never cold enough to turn the damp air into snow. Everything is colorless and oversaturated and your clothes, especially your socks, are constantly wet and cold and the days where it isn't on the verge of raining, when the sun peeks through the cracks in the overcast seem like rewards for enduring and to celebrate you wrap yourself up in the bulkiest and colorful scarf and enjoy the "good weather" despite knowing it could sleet rain at any moment.

Blood Appears Quite Black

The Tooth Fairy killer has kidnapped Freddy Lounds of the Tattler and is showing him her becoming the Great Red Dragon, a slideshow of her sacrifices in service of her transformation, as he's tied to a wheelchair in her house. The colors are totally 80s and the outfits are in the transition between decades, a touch of the 70s mixed with the present day at the time.

Eating the Business

A young woman wears a throwback to the 90s with a jersey zipup and cutoff jean shorts and waits for her meal at a midtown, walk-up window eatery.

Humbly Entreat You for the Soul of This

A young woman dressed in virginal white and wearing a crown of flowers stands in a field with a serene look on her face as the pagan ritual of burning an effigy of Cian in honor of Lugh to bring about a good harvest.

Watched the Pale Surf

A young woman wearing her most fashionable 70s-era bikini stands in the ocean that expands in everyway to the horizon as a massive ship sails by.

Brought To Light again

A young woman unsure that it's fun to be outside since winter still has a grasp on the weather even though its the beginning of April, there's still a chill in the air and the colors are muted, which match her subdued 80s-inspired sweater/skirt combo. She poses in front of the doorway he asked her out but the memory has soured since the breakup and the good memories are tainted.

No Winter Ever Quite Touches

Winter never seemed as grueling when you're stuck in your throwback 70s apartment, the color scheme matching the cat that's slowly grooming itself on your dining table chair, the flooring a polished wood that gives a glimmer of coziness during the heavy snowfall as a young woman gets ready for bed, wrapped up in slippers and a good sweater.

Wrap Me in the Weathers of the Earth

A young woman stands in front of graffiti that reminds her of that one artist who got away in her corporate fashion, her jacket soaked by the rain that ruins her makeup but hides her crying.
