To set the mood, imagine this Korean folk painting ritual Hye Jin describes: sitting on a wooden floor, spreading out the rice paper and pouring the ink, squeezing paints out onto the palette...as the smell of hot tea mingles with sounds of the Gayageum (Korean zither/harp), you forget your worldly thoughts and soothe yourself…"

SOCIETY OF ILLUSTRATORS 62

The Society of Illustrators has announced its annual selection of winning entries from the thousands of entries submitted worldwide. Judged by a jury of professionals, including renowned illustrators, art directors and designers, the official selection represents the most outstanding works created throughout the year. These illustrations will be honored in two award ceremonies, featured in the 62nd award annual, and presented in two January exhibitions at the Society of Illustrators gallery in New York.

Big congratulations go out to Dinara Mirtalipova and Hye Jin Chung, who had work accepted into the Society of Illustrators 62 exhibit and book, with winning entries in the Editorial, Book, Institutional, Uncommissoned, and Surface/Product Design categories. Way to go!
