They must receive at least two votes to appear on TRIBUTE. AI28 will be printed in full color and distributed world-wide in hard-cover immediately after The Party on November 12th, 2009. Bella Pilar 'Make Someone Smile'
Bella is following the success of her rose dress and puppy love Valentine's Day cards with her first Bella Pilar branded promotion at Papyrus stores nationwide.
The store windows, interior displays and web home page launched Feb. 15th and feature a large 'Make Someone Smile' banner illustrated by Bella. The Spring promotion features exclusively Bella Pilar greeting cards and other products, all of which are new releases. All featured merchandise was created exclusively for Papyrus and can be found in Papyrus stores as well a Papyrus partnerships at Target, Barnes & Noble and Whole Foods.
Roumieu's Newest Book Launches
Graham Roumieu will celebrate the North American launch of 101 Ways to Kill Your Boss at the Gladstone Hotel in Toronto, ON.
The event will feature five "celebrity assassins" who, after being handed an envelope with an 8x10 of a famous boss, will select a method of executing them from Roumieu's graphic how-to guide. The celebrity assassins include Tim Beresford of comedy troupe Hot Snack Radio; author, journalist and editor, Stacey May Fowles; writer and illustrator Evan Mundy; and two others whose identities shall remain a secret until the launch.
This is a This Is Not a Reading Series event, presented by Pages Books & Magazines, Penguin Group Canada, Gladstone Hotel, EYE Weekly and Take Five On CIUT.

Bella Pilar for LCX Stores in Hong Kong
Bella Pilar was recently commissioned by LCX stores of Hong Kong to do a series of illustrations for a beauty campaign. LCX, which stands for Lifestyle Concept X, represents a revolutionary retail store concept, combining the best of boutique and department store shopping experiences into one world. The title being self-explanatory, everyone will find humor in Graham's priceless recipe of a quart of off-beat wit, a pound of absurdity, and in this case, more than a healthy dose of macabre. The 112-page hardcover book is currently available only in the UK or through online sites such as Amazon.
Bella Pilar's Notecards for Breast Cancer Research
October is Breast Cancer Month and the latest Bella Pilar illustrated cards to be found at PAPYRUS include a box set of notecards to help benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The illustrated pink box contains 20 blank notecards, 5 cards each of 4 designs and matching pink lined envelopes. The current issue of Self magazine featured the cards in the article 'Pink Power' which raises awareness about breast cancer and breast cancer research. Bigfoot Sighting on Metro
Tell me who else you'd assign an illustration to with a cover story titled Bigfoot Inc.? None other than Graham Roumieu fits the bill. Never predicable, a business-like Bigfoot with no pants glares at the slightly grungy hed and dek of a story about a local Meno Park, CA man who is a one-man sasquatch industry. Nice choice Metro, I'll bet your paper boxes emptied quick that week.
Bigfoot Seen in 'Arts & Life'
An 'in-character' portrait of Bigfoot illustrated by Graham Roumieu in the style of Me Write Book - It Bigfoot Memoir (Plume) was on the cover of the Arts & Life section of the National Post this Monday, June 25, 2007. The illustration accompanied an article titled 'The Fur in Furtive' that covers a filmmaker in Alberta who says he has found a colony of Bigfeet in the Rockies.
We're always glad to see art directors go for 'the real thing' when it comes to representing our furry friend.

Four limited editions vintage style T-shirts featuring Bella Pilar's illustrations are now available in-store and online.
