Roumieu Inteviewed by Lit Mob

Graham Roumieu was interviewed by Lit Mob, a site that loves great books and showcases the best of them. The site reviews fiction, non-fiction and graphic novels and being independent, they are not worried about voicing their honest opinion. We especially love the Artist Picks section - but what about picks from some non-musical artists . . .

Bigfoot: That Would Be Awesome!

A Bigfoot fan was so inspired by Me Write Book: It Bigfoot Memoir that they picked up their ukulele and paid tribute to the big guy by recording their own version of the rock ballad That Would Be Awesome. It's sure to be a classic! See it here.

The Artalog 2009

Be sure to rifle through your in-box this month for a copy of THE ARTALOG 2009 - the second collaboration between Magnet Reps and Frank Sturges Reps. The 80-page catalog of illustration showcases the work of 27 artists from 10 countries. A carefully edited two-page spread for each illustrator gives a nice perspective on what each is up to and a news section and award gallery boast recent accomplishments. We designed it to be a keeper and hope you’ll agree!

Roumieu's Cat & Gnome Out Now!

Graham Roumieu's latest book is out now! Cat and Gnome, published by Blue Q, is an "awkward portrait of a one-sided relationship between a real cat and a ceramic garden gnome. Throw in characters like Reggie the snail and an exploding robot from the future and you get this hilarious tale... For anyone who ever felt like they were doing everything wrong but got a happy ending anyway."

Successful Wake for Bigfoot

Last month's wake themed book launch party for Graham Roumieu's newest book Bigfoot: I Not Dead was a spectacular success. The concept of a wake clearly resonated with people as The Gladstone Hotel management estimated the crowd at well over 250, which is about a hundred over capacity.

Each of the 'eulogists' did a wonderful job. Much like a real wake, their testimonials contradicted one another with five eulogists presenting five bigfoots; Douglas Bell's intellectual, Sean Cullen's zen master, Jeremy Keehn's clandestine lover, Damian Rogers's soulful hipster bassist, Nathan Whitlock's philanderer and Michael Winter's practical joker. Tim Beresford, the host, was hilarious and the acoustic guitar "candle in the wind" was the perfect choice to end evening.

Although a good portion of the crowd had a copy of Bigfoot: I Not Dead under their arm as they walked in, an astonishing 79 additional copies were sold that night. We hope Graham's inspired inscription for the Bigfoot poster - "buy book at Pages or me kill you" - will drive sales for months to come.

Thanks to Pages Books and Magazines, The Walrus, Penguin and The Gladstone Hotel for a wonderful event and please check out the pics of the evening if you missed the fun.
